Designer - Georgia Hall

The Wild And Wonderful States Of Georgia

A spirited performer at heart with a love of bohemia, Georgia Hall loved nothing more than dressing up as a child. This lead to an early career on the stage with dancing and acting jobs that took her around the world.  It was this innate expressiveness, love of colour and movement, that lead to her designing her first collections to suit her own ever changing frame of mind, hence the name, State of Georgia.

Taking on a fresh and unique approach to fashion, the State Of Georgia label now reflects Georgia Hall’s love of all things vintage.  Introduced to Australia in 2004, the State Of Georgia label has evolved organically from a small collection of shoes – a big passion – into clothing and accessories.

Georgia Hall successfully manages all design and manufacturing from her own factory based in Bali. What brings each collection to life is Hall’s way with fabric, colour and her relaxed but sexy, feminine designs. She has an eye for mixing signature, exclusive prints and bold, vibrant hues in collections that have grown year upon year to include flowing dresses, tops, jackets and directional footwear.

Invited to show State Of Georgia at Mercedes Australian Fashion Week in 2007, the label has since garnered critical acclaim from the media, featuring in high fashion publications such as Grazia, RUSSH, Instyle, Marie Claire and Italian Vogue. Furthermore, a foray into the Japanese market has seen State of Georgia successfully stocked in Beams, the leading department store in Japan and features in the indie-cool Nylon Japan.

State of Georgia has truly become international, gracing the backs of a bevy of stars, including Christina Ricci, Nicole Kidman and Natalie Bassingthwaite, who love her designs, fresh mix of eclectic prints, intricate cuts and girlish vintage details.
